What the girls do while the boys are away!

This our weekend we usually go over to Prineville to help my Sister and Brother in-law work on their house. Since Blayne has to teach on Sunday and it was going to be a quick trip just Blayne and Gavin went and us girls stayed home.

What do girls do when they stay home together? Definitely girl stuff! Shannon and Lexi spent the night last night, Shannon and I rented a movie and I painted her toe nails. Her pregnant belly is slowly keeping her from being able to do it.

Shannon started in on a sewing project this morning, Aimee stopped by this afternoon and we worked on a different project, then after everyone left, I did more painting finger nails and toe nails on my girls tonight. I can't take credit for Victoria's toes, my good friend Holley does our toes. Maddy, obviously, doesn't get done by Holley and has to deal with a Mommy paint job. Still painted, still cute, still a lot of fun. I love having daughters! I may change my mind when I have to pay for weddings!!!!

Just some randoms.

Maddy vs. The Oreo Cookie!
I think the jury is still out, as the Mom....look at that dirty face, of course she lost!!

The turban head girls!
My wonderful Mother in-law bought Victoria and I these out of the shower hair wraps instead of using a towel. Maddy has now decided she needs to use one. I do have to admit, she looks pretty dang cute in it. These our pictures we sent Blayne to tell him goodnight when he was at work late one night.

Take note of Victoria's shirt, "Don't make my Daddy shoot you!" She is definitely her Daddy's girl!!

What on earth have the Yate's been up to?

So every few months or so, my house gets turned upside down, it's what we call "hair time!" My good friend Crystal comes into to town to do my hair and while she is here there are three sometimes four people that take advantage of her visit and get their hair done too! This is a common occurrence.
Not only do I get to see my good friend, I get to see her sweet little Matthew also. I didn't get any hair pictures but I did get a cute picture of Matthew with Blayne. Blayne was laying on the floor, Matthew was lying there with him and reaching back and caressing Blayne's facial hair. It isn't the first time, my kids did it all the time, but it is still sweet.

Then, our "other" great friend Kristal, came to visit and spent the day on Saturday with the kids and I . Kristal loves taking pictures. I was doing dishes, so I sent her out with my camera to take some pictures of the kids on the trampoline. Rain or shine I find Gavin and Trouble, oh I mean Maddy :) sneaking out to get onto the trampoline!

I have so many fun memories as a kid on my Aunt's trampoline. I am excited for my kids to experience the same joy. I love to hear them saying, "let's play crack the egg!" OH MAN, Blayne had to have taught them that. Even though it makes me feel old, I had to get this old to experience this joy. Let me tell ya, it's worth the trade!!! Heavenly Father gave me the three greatest kids ever!

Our new toy!

Blayne took Gavin and Victoria shopping on Saturday and came home with a new trampoline. They love it! Unfortunately Maddalyn fell asleep before they were done so she missed out on jumping on it.
Blayne and I being the naughty parents we are, when she woke up at midnight we took her out and showed it to her finished. We got on it with her, she wouldn't jump at first. Blayne laid there with her showing her the stars and she still wasn't interested. So I grabbed her and started jumping. She wasn't quite happy until I jumped then landed on my butt, then she started cracking up! "Again Mommy, Again!" It was kind of like when you wake your kids up Christmas morning because they aren't old enough to understand that's what you do.

My Sweet Girls!

My little girls are the most willing helpers. I was making chili and cornbread for dinner the other night. We decided to add hot dogs to it. They were more than willing to help me cut them up. Blayne snapped a few pics of them them "helping". They actually did a pretty good job.

Last weekend we had a potty party at our house. For those of you who know me I have a strict potty training method and I have potty trained all of my kids at the age of 2 and I did it within 3-4 days. Fully trained except they still would wear night time pull-ups for a while.
For those non-believers out there, I now have a witness, ask Shannon! We spent Friday working with Lexi and then by Saturday she was telling her mom when she needed to go and had no accidents. Not only were we successful but the girls had fun spending the day together too!

Cold trip to the park!

We have been trying to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather. Blayne tried for the last two days to be home on time so we could take the kids to the park.
Thursday was the day, he came home and we rushed out trying to make it before the sun went down. Shannon and Lexi were over visiting for the day. Shannon and I were working on some sewing projects. So they decided to come along too!
We left and before we hit the end of the block Shannon and I tried to give up because it wasn't only cold, but windy too! We managed to stick it out and it was worth it. The kids needed to get out, not only for their sanity but for mine too!

The Snowboarding Yates Children

Thursday Victoria played hookie from school and we took the kids up to use their snowboards that Uncle Sean bought them for Christmas. Sean wasn't here for Christmas so this is their first chance to take them up, and take them up with Sean.

Gavin did great and was boarding all by himself by the end of the afternoon. Victoria also took a short run without Sean holding on to her. I am definitely proud of the effort they put in and since they both had a positive experience I think it will be that much easier to get them both up again.

Blayne and Sean went up boarding by themselves on Friday and Gavin asked if he could go. Blayne told him maybe next time, he was quite disappointed. He was sure he could go and keep up with them. I definitely think he is a natural, but maybe not quite ready to go with the big boys.

While the boys were boarding the rest of us went back and forth sledding. G'ma and G'pa, Maddy and I took turns sledding. Maddy didn't even need a sled, she was perfectly fine with wallowing all over in the snow. I think she may be part penguin. Hmmm, what does that make me? It must come from Blayne! :)
