Not Swine Flu!! Thank Heavens!

So when you call the Dr. because your 2 1/2 year old spiked a 103.3* fever it's great when they say, "well, you shouldn't have to worry unless she has like asthma or something." WHAT!!!! I introduce to you one of my asthma ridden children, ta da!

I was so relieved when her fever broke at 2:00 this morning. They said if it was swine flu her high fever would last for days. So we are probably safe in saying it's just regular flu. Although I still have to closely monitor her (and Gavin's) asthma. If by any chance they get swine flu, that is where they will struggle. Asthma is one of those,"it's only bad if you have an existing ailment." conditions.

I am happy to see her beautifully jumping around this morning. She does still have a stuffy nose and a little temp., 99.6*, nothing compared to last night. Believe me, we are counting are blessings!!!

Beautiful!!

So, those of you that don't live close to me, we had a pretty eventful storm on Saturday. I was at Super Saturday for our stake Enrichment and it was noisy. I happened to be outside, when it started with huge rain drops, then immediately this awesome lightning strike that lit up the whole sky, followed by a huge rumble of thunder. Needless to say I ran right back into the church, whatever I was doing couldn't be that important :)

Not the point though! Friday previous, the day was so warm. Mary and I were running errands, complaining about how warm and muggy it was. When I got home, I was in my room and this was the view of the sunset from my bedroom window. It was beautiful!

October equals PUMPKINS!!!

Blayne, Tony, and I took the kids to the pumpkin patch on Saturday. It was very cold but $34 later we had our pumpkins. Holy cow, pumpkins are expensive these days! We were in a hurry so we didn't take the kids out to the patch we just let them pick from the newly picked pumpkins they offered. (I know I'm a horrible mom! But I can't to everything!) They had fun despite my short comings.

Next to come carving photos! I will give you a little preview. This is Tony's VOLCOM pumpkin. He did a great job on it, if you don't know Tony, he loves anything VOLCOM!

Victoria's 1st Major Haircut (yes it's true!)

Well, it may be hard to believe but Victoria has never had her haircut other than a minor 1" trim. I'm not exaggerating, 1" while being overseen by her Daddy. Blayne has always been pro long hair. So I willingly supported his preference, I also enjoy my daughters beautiful long hair. I enjoy playing with it and doing creative styles with it.

Victoria has been complaining lately of headaches. I don't know if this is the only factor but I believe it may be a contributing one. After a phone call from school 2 weeks ago with a very upset girl do to a headache I pleaded with her Dad to let me cut it. Blayne, probably against his desire, agreed to let us cut it.

BEFORE:

I was going to have my Mom do a simple trim but then my friend Crystal was going to be in town the following week and she offered to do it. Victoria was sure she couldn't bare the 4 days longer that she had to wait for Crystal to do it. The day finally arrived and she could hardly hold still so Crystal could cut it in a straight line.

DURING:

I am sure Crystal took a good 6 inches off. The biggest difference will be all of the weight she took out of it by thinning it. I am very happy, it looks great. Victoria loves it! Blayne on the other hand, "Whatever, It's fine." I could clobber him, it's only hair, it grows back. That's the story he feed me when he tells me he wants to shave his head and I am against it. So it is definitely a good thing, and I haven't heard any complaints of any headaches! WooHoo!
